METHOD FOR PROCESSING BOTH END FACES OF ROD LENS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing both end faces of a rod lens capable of manufacturing the rod lens having both the inclined end faces with high accuracy and high production efficiency. SOLUTION: The rod lens 30 is once subjected to diagonal surface processing to previously provide one cut surface 30a of the rod lens with a diagonal angleθ1of one end face of the rod lens with respect to its optical axis and to provide the other cut surface 30b with a diagonal angleθ2based on the cut surface 30a. As a result, the rod lens 21 of which both the end faces are respectively inclined with respect to the optical axis is obtained simply by once subjecting the rod lens to the diagonal surface processing to provide the other cut surface 30b with the diagonal angleθ2.
