PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller bearing having high rotational precision with little torque variation at low torque in the roller bearing provided with a retainer having an inner ring and an outer ring capable of relative rotation each other, a plurality of rolling bodies arranged between the inner ring and the outer ring, and a plurality of retainer pockets for holding each rolling body freely rollingly, in which a partly opened retainer pocket opening is formed to each retainer pocket. SOLUTION: Pre-load F is applied onto an opening side 10a of the retainer pocket of the inner ring 4 and on the side 10b opposite to the opening of the retainer pocket of the outer ring 6 in the rolling bearing 2. Lubricant 16 of≤about 30% of the space volume inside a static bearing is sealed in the raceway faces (raceway grooves) of the inner and outer rings. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
