PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection device with excellent valve opening responsivity for reducing a valve opening bounce of a valve member. SOLUTION: This fuel injection device comprises a cylindrical valve body 11; a movable core 14 reciprocatably accommodated in the valve body 11 integrally with the valve member; and a stationary core 12, which is unmovably accommodated in the valve body 11 and whose downstream end face 13a is opposed to an upstream end face 15a of the movable core 14. An indentation part 52 is formed on an outermost peripheral edge of the upstream end face 15a of the movable core 14. An enlarging part 62 for making an interval D of a side gap 70 on the outer periphery of the downstream end 16 of the movable core 14 larger than an interval D' on the outer periphery of the upstream end 15 is installed on an outer peripheral wall of the movable core 14 forming the annular-sectioned side gap 70 between it and the inner peripheral wall of the valve body 11.
