PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for accelerating the gelation of a polyvinyl chloride resin for enhancing the molding processability without lowering productivity and mechanical characteristics, and a polyvinyl chloride resin composition. SOLUTION: The method for accelerating the gelation of a polyvinyl chloride resin comprises mixing 100 mass pts. of a polyvinyl chloride resin (A) with 0.01-20 mass pts. of a carboxylic acid-containing copolymer (B) obtained by copolymerizing 0.1-40 mass% of a monomer containing a carboxylic acid and 99.9-60 mass% of a vinyl monomer copolymerizable therewith.
