PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economical device for confirming engagement with a container in a container cargo handling vehicle in which an engagement of a hook and an engagement pin can be certainly confirmed regardless of a circumstance of periphery and an operation by a worker is not required. SOLUTION: An engagement operation member 3 operated when the hook 23 is engaged with the container C is provided on an expansion/shrinkage arm 22 and an interlocking member 5 operated by interlocking with this engagement operation member 3 is provided. A detection device 6 for detecting that the interlocking member 5 is arranged at an operation position when the extension/ contraction arm 22 is retracted against the outer arm 21 is provided on the outer arm 21. An informing means 7 for informing the worker of that the hook 23 is engaged with the container C based on a detection of the interlocking member 5 by the detection device 6 is provided on the outer arm 21 or a car body 1 side.
