PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently enhance flexural rigidity in protection to an increase in weight, while allowing crash deformation to be induced stably, in a vehicle skeleton member structure. SOLUTION: Rations t1/b1, t2/b2 of wall thicknesses t1, t2 of respective circumferential walls 11-14 corresponding to respective sides of a substantially rectangular shaped ring in a cross-section by a plane orthogonal to longitudinal direction of a body, of a side member 10, to side lengths b1, b2 are made equivalent (t1/b1 is nearly equal to t2/b2).
