<p>A recycling system, possibly for use in association with a kitchen sink 1 or likewise as part of a mobile vehicle system (see fig 8), comprises a unit 8 having a series of inlet apertures 2a-7a (corresponding to apertures 1-7 in the sink component) in to which different types of waste material may be inserted (eg. paper, PVC, PET, aluminium, tin, glass etc), via seals 13a-18a, and below which exists a series of individual chambers 13b-18b, each having separate processing chambers 13c-18c, accomodating different comminution means 19-24 (also see figs 5b, 6b and 7b) which allow the individually identified and separate waste materials to be processed. Each of the comminution means are powered, preferably in unison, my a single actuator and motor arrangement 10, possibly manually operated via a drive shaft 33, sprocket 26, 27, 30, 32 and chain 31 arrangement. Processed material collects at the bottom of the individual chambers, in bagged areas 13d-18d. Arrangements whereby the unit(s) are static, mobile, or a mixture of both, are discussed, as is a system whereby processed materials are then transferred to a serious of secondary sub-units to allow for further processes to be conducted.</p> |
