PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter device in which a filter with a large air-passing area can be readily cleaned. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner is provided with: a vacuum cleaner body 10 with a built-in motor fan 12; a flexible hose 20 connected to the vacuum cleaner body 10 at its one end part 20a; a hand-held operation pipe 14 connected to the other end part 20b of the flexible hose 20; a suction port body 16 communicating with the motor fan 12 through at least the hand-held operation pipe 14 and the flexible hose 20; a dust collecting receptacle 17 disposed between the other end part 20b of the flexible hose 20 and the suction port body 16; a drive switch 14b for driving the motor fan 12 provided at the hand-held operation pipe 14; and a signal line 30 (connecting line) electrically connecting the vacuum cleaner body 10 with the drive switch 14b.
