PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate works to handle cables or the like for supplying electric power to a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus movable in an MRI room and for exchanging control signals. SOLUTION: The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus is divided into a gantry means and a control means. When images are taken, the gantry means is moved around a bed to load a subject, and a first and a second connector means are coupled there. When no image is taken, the gantry means is removed to a place away from the subject, and the first and a third connector means are coupled there. Various kinds of signals are exchanged between the gantry means and the control means and electric power is supplied through the first and the second connector means coupled mutually when the images are taken. Electric power is supplied to a temperature control means or the like to maintain a state of temperature or the like of a magnetic field generating means or the like on the gantry means through the first and the third connector means coupled mutually when no image is taken.
