PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To alter a visual field without operating an electronic endoscope. SOLUTION: A memory 42 is provided to an electronic scope 10 and the mask position data peculiar to the individual electronic scope 10 are stored in the memory 42. When the electronic scope 10 is mounted in a processor 100, the processor 100 reads the mask position data from the memory 42. A memory control circuit 120 applies mask processing to the image signal read from an image memory 106 on the basis of the mask position data and the mask data read from an ROM 122. By altering the mask position data arbitrarily by the operation of the specific switch of a front panel switch 114, the visual field of the image to be displayed on a monitor 200 is altered.
