PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool with a simple structure capable of efficiently carrying out attachment and detachment of a work with respect to a table by minimizing a non-machining time. SOLUTION: A main spindle 6 can move in a fore and aft directions, lateral directions and vertical directions, and a tool 7 attached to the main spindle 6 machines the work. The table 5 can laterally reciprocate by using a ball screw normally and reversely rotated by a servo motor 20. Both right and left end sides 11 and 12 of a top face part of the table 5 are used as work fixing parts for detachably fixing the work. A work space for attaching and detaching the work with respect to one work fixing part when the table 5 is fully moved in a right direction or a left direction so that another work fixing part is positioned in a machining place of the tool 7 is provided in a periphery of the one work fixing part.
