PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the leakage of lubricants otherwise contaminating sewn products. SOLUTION: In the sewing machine which performs a hemming or the like by transmitting drive forces of the spindle 31 of the sewing machine to a needle drive shaft 50, a feed drive shaft 61 and an upper looper drive shaft 46 through drive shafts 51, 73 and 47, a sewing machine frame 2 is provided with a link mechanism housing part 16 which houses a link mechanism for transmitting driving forces from the spindle of the sewing machine to the needle drive shaft, the feed drive shaft and the upper looper drive shaft, a needle mechanism housing part 18 which houses a needle mechanism, a feed mechanism housing part 17 which houses a feed mechanism, an upper looper mechanism housing part 21 which houses an upper looper mechanism and oil seals 150a to 150k mounted between a transmission shaft of the link mechanism and boundary walls 2FW, 2MW and 2SW of the link mechanism housing part. Atmospheric air releasing members 160, 170 and 180 having through holes 163, 173 and 183 formed therein are provided to lubricate the housing parts other than the link mechanism housing part with the grease and the link mechanism housing part with the oil while making the link mechanism housing part communicate with the outside of the sewing machine frame.
