<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compress and solidify hard-to-gather chips by equalizing the internal pressure distribution of the chips in the case of compressing the chips. <P>SOLUTION: In order to attain the purpose, (1) the chips are fed into a sleeve, (2) both sides of the supplied chips are compressed with pistons and the pistons are stopped when the internal pressure on both sides of the compressed chips reaches a prescribed value and (3) the compressed chips are discharged as a compressed and solidified matter after stopping the pistons. This device has the sleeve into which the chips are supplied through a hopper, the pistons which are arranged on both sides of the sleeve and with which both sides of the supplied chips are compressed, pressure sensors for detecting the pressure of the piston and a discharging mechanism for discharging the compressed chips in cooperation with the pistons as the compressed and solidified matter in the case that the internal pressures on both sides of the chips compressed with the pistons reach the prescribed value and the pressure of the piston corresponding to the prescribed value is detected with the pressure sensors. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
