PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air floatation type web supporting apparatus capable of floating a web by air and stably traveling without bringing into contact with the web. SOLUTION: A 1st air pocket 46A is arranged on the inside of an arc type curved part drawn by the web 1, a 2nd air pocket 46B is arranged at an inlet part of the curved part to be adjacent to the 1st air pocket 46A and a 3rd air pocket 46C is arranged at an outlet part of the curved part. An air nozzle 45A for jetting air toward the web 1 is provided between the 1st air pocket 46A and the 2nd air pocket 46B and a 2nd air nozzle 45B for jetting air toward the web 1 is provided between the 1st air pocket 46A and the 3rd air pocket 46C.
