<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new polyketide and a method for effectively producing both new polyketide and known polyketides using recombinant technology. <P>SOLUTION: A new host cell-vector system is used to produce a polyketide synthase sequentially catalyzing production of polyketides.
