摘要	<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable even an unskilled measuring person to easily measure the thickness of a subcutaneous fat layer, etc., without an error. <P>SOLUTION: Information about a subject including his/her age and gender and inputted information of a measuring site 10 are inputted to a subcutaneous tissue measuring instrument by an input means. From among information about a person including an age and gender previously stored in a storage means and a sample image 14 of the subcutaneous fat layer, etc., of each measuring site 10, the sample image 14 of the subcutaneous fat layer, etc., corresponding to the inputted information by the input means is selected and displayed on a display means, thereafter the measured image 17 of the subcutaneous fat layer, etc., obtained while fitting the probe of an image generation means to the measuring site of the patient and moving it is displayed on the display means. Then the measured image 17 of the same shape as the sample image 14 is found. Concerning this found measured image 17, measuring bars 18a and 18b are fitted to the upper and lower boundaries of the subcutaneous fat layer (x), etc., to measure the thickness of the subcutaneous fat layer (x), etc. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
