<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus capable of displaying an image by which the feature of a noticing site within a subject is easily grasped. <P>SOLUTION: The inside of the subject is three-dimensionally scanned by a 3D probe to acquire echo information in a three-dimensional area and it is stored in a volume memory. From this echo information, the tomograms 202a, 202b and 202c of the three orthogonal cross sections of the three- dimensional area are formed. On the three tomograms 202a, 202b and 202c on these three orthogonal cross sections, the designation of three reference points is received, and a surface passing through these three reference points is obtained as 'an optional cross section'. Then, the echo information at each point on this optional cross section is read from the volume memory to form the tomogram of the optional cross section to form the tomogram 206 of the optional cross section, and a four-surface display picture 200 where the tomograms 202a, 202b and 202c and the tomogram image 206 of the optional cross section are arranged is displayed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
