<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwavable frozen food which comprises a food material with a coating containing starch and from which the food with the coating of a favorable state is obtained, by heating and cooking the frozen food in a microwave oven, without requiring much labor and time, such as steaming operation. <P>SOLUTION: This microwavable frozen food comprises the food material which is coated with a coating powder containing the gelatinized starch as a main component. The food material preferably comprises an unheated food, and more preferably comprises an unheated seafood. The gelatinized starch preferably comprises crosslinked gelatinized starch. The frozen food is produced by coating the food material with the coating powder containing the gelatinized starch as the main component, dipping the coated material into water, and freezing the dipped material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
