PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation image pickup apparatus, etc., by which radiation image pickup is performed at high speed and three-dimensional image data is obtained by using a phase contrast method. SOLUTION: This radiation image pickup apparatus is provided with: a light source which generates radiation having a prescribed wavelength; a holding means for holding a subject transmitting the radiation emitted by the light source; a detection means including a plurality of detection elements which are arranged on a plurality of surfaces at different distances from the subject to detect the intensity of radiation transmitted by the subject; a driving means for driving the holding means and/or the light source and the detection means so as to vary the relative position of the subject and the detection means and the direction of the incident radiation on the subject; and an image constitution means which obtains phase information of the radiation transmitted by the subject based on detected data obtained by detecting the intensity of the radiation by the detection means and respectively expressing radiation image information on a plurality of the surfaces and which generates image data based on the phase information.
