<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion exchange scrubber for sharply reducing the amount of use of water and economical but having high gas treatment efficiency and collaterally, to make the ion exchange scrubber operable even if there is no nozzle to reduce the danger of trouble such as the clogging of the nozzle or the like. <P>SOLUTION: A cartridge 20 including an ion exchange resin is provided on the upper parts of two chambers 1 and 2, which are formed by vertically partitioning the space in a housing 10 so that the upper parts of both chambers communicate with each other. Gas is sucked from the gas suction port 30 formed at a position lower than the position where the cartridge is provided and discharged to an exhaust port 40 to remove a pollutant. The water level of the aqueous solution filling the lower parts of the chambers 1 and 2 is changed by a water level regulation pump and the ion exchange resin is washed and regenerated periodically to efficiently treat the polluted gas with a small amount of water. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
