PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for taking out guts of poultry without damaging eatable guts such as the liver, and without leaving the craw in the body. SOLUTION: The anus of the poultry in a state connected to the intestine is taken out to the exterior of the body, and a slit is formed in the abdomen so as to continue from the anus-removed part. A slit is formed at the joint part of the neck of the poultry, and a rod-shaped body is inserted from the slit at the joint part of the neck to the interior of the body of the poultry. The inserted rod-shaped body is pushed to the slit in the abdomen to push out the guts of the poultry from the slit in the abdomen. As a result, the tip part of the rod-shaped body does not interfere the eatable guts because the craw, the heart, the lung, the esophagus, the intestine or the like acts as a buffer to prevent the eatable guts such as the liver from being damaged. The tip part of the rod-shaped body inserted from the slit at the joint part of the neck into the interior of the poultry is connected with the craw at the joint part of the neck at first to peel the craw from a membrane tissue at the periphery thereof so that the craw may not be left in the body.
