PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain piezoelectric ceramics having excellent piezoelectric characteristics and a high mechanical strength. SOLUTION: This piezoelectric ceramic composition is obtained by adding a prescribed amount of at leas one kind of metal oxide selected from Ta2O5, Sb2O3 and Nb2O5 to an oxide composition prepared by substituting a part of Pb in an oxide composition represented by the basic compositional formula Pb[(Zn1/3Nb2/3)xTiyZrz]O3 with at least one metal element of Sr, Ba and Ca. |
