摘要 PURPOSE: An LCD device is provided to improve visual characteristics of the VA(Vertically Aligned) LCD device, and to realize satisfactory contrast and operational speed, thereby securing a response speed that exceeds a TN(Twisted Nematic)-type LCD. CONSTITUTION: On transparent electrodes(12,13) formed on a glass substrate, an alignment layer is attached. A TN liquid crystal is injected between the transparent electrodes(12,13) by performing a rubbing process of making liquid crystal molecules different at 90 degrees on upper/lower substrates. Liquid crystals contacted with the alignment layer are aligned along an align direction of the alignment layer. Other liquid crystal molecules are aligned according to the liquid crystal molecules described above. The liquid crystal molecules are aligned while being distorted at 90 degrees. Two sheets of polarizers(11,15) are disposed on both sides of the electrodes(12,13) in parallel to the align direction of the alignment layer.
