PURPOSE:To shut off overcurrent by self control to prevent runaway and breakage of an element by using an oxide represented by a specific composition formula in a solid electrochemical element. CONSTITUTION:A composition represented by a formula of (V1-xCrx)2O3 is used as a positive active material of a solid electrochemical element, such as a lithium secondary battery. In the formula, x is 0.002-0.15. When the adding amount of Cr is in this range, V2O3 shows a metallic phase at around room temperature, and phase transition of metal-semiconductor is made possible by temperature rising. The phase transition reversely occurs by temperature variation, and oxidation/reduction current is obtained only in a metal layer. When temperature is raised by an external factor, releasing/insertion reaction of lithium stops to discontinue oxidation/reduction current, and when the temperature is returned to the room temperature, reaction starts again. |
