METHOD AND DEVICE FOR REFINING OF METAL AT POURING AND CRYSTALLIZATION OF INGOTS AND MOLDED PARTS

The method for refining metal during pouring and crystallization of ingots and molded parts includes pouring of metal under slag and refining of metal during crystallization using a diaphragm. During pouring a part of slag is concentrated under diaphragm and assimilates non-metallic impurities of peripheral areas of an ingot. Other part of slag after passage through diaphragm hole changes its direction, movement speed and increases contact with metal. The device for method implementation includes mould, extension for overflows and diaphragm with central hole located between mould and overflow. The diaphragm on lower and upper surfaces has circular depressions with outer and inner circular clamps. Outer clamp of lower surface of diaphragm is continuation of walls of mould, and upper surface coincides with lower surface of extension and lining. Inner circular clamps of both surfaces of diaphragm are extended and surfaces of central hole of diaphragm are rounded, and in area of contact with depressions is created a smooth passage to surfaces of depressions.
