PURPOSE: A discharge valve apparatus of a hermetic compressor is provided to simplify components by allowing a movement control unit formed integrally with a discharge valve to execute function usually executed by a valve spring. CONSTITUTION: A discharge valve apparatus includes a valve plate(20) having an inlet and an outlet(24) connected with an inside of a compression chamber; a discharge valve(30) having one end fixed to the valve plate, and a free end opening and closing the outlet; a movement control unit(40) formed integrally with the discharge valve to control movement of the discharge valve; and a retainer(50) fixing the discharge valve to the valve plate. The discharge valve includes an opening and closing part(32) opening and closing the outlet, a fixed part(34) fixed to the valve plate by the retainer; a connecting neck part(36) connecting the opening and closing part and the fixed part; and the movement control unit extended from a front end of the opening and closing part to control movement of the opening and closing part. Alternatively, a head cover is used to fix the discharge valve instead of the retainer.
