1,238,946. Let-off motion for looms. MACHINEFABRIEK L. TE STRAKE N.V. 19 Sept., 1968 [20 Sept., 1967], No. 44680/68. Heading D1E. Cyclic variations in warp tension due to opening and closing of the shed are compensated by positively moving the back rest 3 vertically in guides 4 by linkage 13, 12, 11, 10, B from the slay B. The guides 4 are on supports 6 which swing forward about pivots 5 as the warp tension gradually increases due to take up of the fabric; this movement acts through linkage 19, 21, 23, 25 to engage a friction clutch 26 to drive the warp beam 1. The speed at which the beam is driven to let warp off is controlled by a feeler 31 acting on a variable speed gear of the friction wheel and disc type to increase the speed of the input shaft 29 of the clutch as the warp is consumed. In order to take warp back when repairing weaving fan 1 and 3, a dog clutch (not shown) can be engaged by a solenoid to enable a separate motor to drive the shaft 42 in the reverse direction. |
