PURPOSE: Provided is a method for fabricating hydroxyapatite powder with high purity by simple process at low cost by using shells, and further provided is hydroxyapatite powder fabricated by the same method. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of preparing shell powder by washing, drying and crushing shells; dispersing the shell powder into distilled water; causing reaction between the shell powder and phosphate solution; drying the reaction products; and heating the dried reaction products at 1200 deg.C for 1 hr.
