PURPOSE: An optical pickup actuator having a magnetic shaft is provided to reduce a number of components needed to a driving of a lens holder by driving a coil fixed in the lens holder with polarizing the shaft of the lens holder. CONSTITUTION: A magnetic flux from an N pole of a vertical polarizing unit(144) is entered into an S polar of the vertical polarizing unit via a first and a second focusing coils(130,132). The magnetic flux from an N pole of a horizontal polarizing unit(146) is entered into an S pole of the horizontal polarizing unit via a first and a second tracking coils(134,136). Thereby, a lens holder(110) is driven toward a focusing and a tracking direction. The magnetic shaft(142) functions as a rotational center of the lens holder and as a magnet to drive the first focusing coil and the second tracking coil to drive the lens holder at the same time.
