PURPOSE: A circuit for removing glitch of a television receiver is provided to accurately judges a format of an inputted video signal by removing the glitch included in a vertical synchronous signal, thereby stably displaying the original video at an accurate position. CONSTITUTION: A monostable multivibrator(1) is triggered by a vertical synchronous section signal for outputting a signal having a low section corresponding to a preliminarily set time constant. A horizontal synchronous signal generator(2) counts a horizontal synchronous signal for outputting a horizontal synchronous signal having a duty ratio of 50. A clock multiplier(3) multiples the horizontal synchronous signal for outputting a clock signal according to the same. A vertical synchronous signal output unit(4) is rest by an output signal of the monostable multivibrator for generating a vertical synchronous section signal from which glitch is removed.
