PURPOSE: A method for transferring data packets for mobile hosts in a cellular IP access network is provided to reduce network resources and base station resources and improve network stabilization by selecting the shortest path in case that data transmission is carried out between the users connected to an identical cellular IP access network. CONSTITUTION: In case that a mobile host(X) transmits data to a mobile host(Y), the mobile host(X) creates a data packet and transfers it to a base station(S)(111). The base station(S) updates a path cache for the mobile host(X)(113), and checks the path cache whether there is a sub base station to the mobile host(Y)(121). If only information for the mobile host(X) exists in the path cache, the base station(S) transfers the data packet to an upper base station(O)(161). The base station(O), updating a path cache for the mobile host(X), checks whether a destination address item for the mobile host(Y) exists in the path cache(113,121). If the destination address item for the mobile host(Y) does not exist, the upper base station(O) transfers the data packet to an upper base station(N)(161). The base station(N), updating a path cache for the mobile host(X), checks whether there is a sub base station to the mobile host(Y). In case that a destination address item for the mobile host(Y) exists and the path cache indicates a sub base station(R), the data packet is transferred to the base station(R)(151). The base station(N) creates an imitation data packet, the reproduction of the data packet, and sends it to an upper base station(M)(153,155). The base station(R) transfers the transferred data packet to the mobile host(Y). |
