PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speed reduction gear with parallel axes, which is equipped with a back stop mechanism which can be replaced easily and is excellent in maintenance ability. SOLUTION: In the speed reduction gear 200 with parallel axes, which is used coupled to a motor and is equipped with front stage shafts 204 and 206 parallel with an output shaft 208 axially in a gear box 219, the back stop mechanism 202 for preventing the reverse rotation of the output shaft 208 is installed outside the axial direction L1 (lower side in the figure) of a bearing 221, which is arranged on the side opposite to the side where the motor is installed in relation to the gear box 219, out of bearings 220 to 225 for rotatably supporting either the output shaft 208 or the front stage shafts 204 and 206.
