PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission and reception device which is small-sized and low in cost while consisting of a small number of components. SOLUTION: The optical transmission and reception device is equipped with a light emitting element 11 which emits light with a 1st wavelength and a light receiving element 13 which receives light with a 2nd wavelength and makes a light from an optical element incident on an optical fiber 12; and an optical circuit element comprises 1st and 2nd optical elements 40 and 50, and the 1st optical element 40 is provided with a 1st lens surface 42 collimating diverged light from the light emitting element into parallel light, a 2nd lens surface 43 converting light from the optical element after being passed through the 2nd optical element on the light receiving element, and a reflecting surface 45 on a base body 41 made of an optical material, and the 2nd optical element 50 is provided with a 3rd lens surface 52 converting light from the 1st lens surface on the optical fiber and a diffraction grating surface 53 emitting 0th- order transmitted light from the 1st lens surface to the optical fiber and primary diffracted light of the light from the optical fiber to a specified direction on a base body 51 made of an optical material.
