The bed base comprises a set of slats (1) each equipped with two nozzles (2) at both ends. A nozzle joins two adjacent slats and holds a rod (5) which slides within a hole formed in a bed frame (8). Springs (10) are mounted at the bottom of each hole for restraining a downward movement of the rods (5).
