<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical head that can improve light utilization efficiency in a light source and at the same time, the electrical or the optical characteristics, and to provide a optical disk apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A first light path is formed. In the first light path, via an optic 14, a first P-polarized light beam B1 of emitted from a first light source 1004 is transmitted through a polarized film 1402 of the optic 14, to pass through an objective lens 16 via a beam splitter 18 and a collimator lens 20 for leading to an optical record medium 102. Additionally, a second light path is formed. In the second light path via the optic 14, a second P-polarized light beam B2 emitted from a second light source 1204 is transmitted via the polarization film 1402 and a polarization direction conversion means 1404, in this order for reflecting on a reflection surface 1406, the reflected second light beam B2 is transmitted through the polarization direction means 1404 for reflecting by the polarization film 1402, and the second light beam B2 passes through the objective lens 16 via the beam splitter 18 and collimator lens 20 for leading to the optical record medium 102. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
