PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus adaptable to an electronic data distribution system capable of preventing an illicit secondary use of electronic data. SOLUTION: An electronic data using apparatus 100 urges a user on acquisition from an electronic data provider of authentication ID corresponding to an authentication ID request number calculated from individual identification ID and one's own apparatus ID in an electronic data storage medium and input of the acquired authentication ID. The electronic data provider finds and records electronic data storage medium ID and electronic data using apparatus ID when accepting a request for authentication ID, and determines whether or not the authentication ID is issued to the same medium ID in the past, and issues the authentication ID when the ID is not issued. The electronic data using apparatus 100 judges whether or not the inputted authentication ID corresponds to the authentication ID request number, and does not read out electronic data when judging that the ID is not right.
