PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently produce a clathrate hydrate of natural gas with a small- sized apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: The apparatus for producing the clathrate hydrate of the natural gas comprises a production vessel 2, a pair of tube sheets 7 and 8 separated to the upper and the lower sides and arranged in the production vessel 2 so as to divide the interior of the production vessel 2 into an upper space, a lower space and a body space arranged between both the spaces, a plurality of cooling tubes 9 arranged in the upper and the lower sides of the body space of the production vessel 2 so as to stride over the pair of the tube sheets 7 and 8 and having both ends opened to the upper space and the lower space, respectively, a refrigerant feeding line 13 for feeding the refrigerant to the body space of the production vessel 2, a natural gas feeding line 10 for feeding the natural gas to the upper space of the production vessel 2, a water feeding line 11 for feeding water to the upper space of the production vessel 2 and a discharge pipe 12 for discharging a mixture containing the clathrate of the natural gas produced by reacting the natural gas with the water.
