PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which production costs for a mechanism for causing a transfer roller to electrostatically attract recording paper are reduced. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises: photoreceptor drums 4 each carrying a toner image on its surface; a recording paper transport belt 8 holding the recording paper and rotating in an endless manner to transport the recording paper to each of the photoreceptor drums 4; an attraction roller 18 disposed opposing to a follower roller 11 and sandwiching the recording paper transport belt 8 and causing the recording paper transport belt 8 to electrostatically attract the recording paper; transfer rollers 9 each transferring the toner image on the surface of each of the photoreceptor drums 4 to the recording paper held on the recording paper transport belt 8; and transfer bias sections 114 each applying a bias voltage to the transfer rollers 9.
