PURPOSE: A method for protecting bricks of the side wall at the bottom of a blast furnace using a press-in material for securing fluidity is provided to improve the life cycle and productivity of the blast furnace and easily control the temperature of the bottom of the furnace by pressing a heavy oil having a lower viscosity into the pore forming part of bricks of the bottom of the furnace during the stoppage of the blast furnace. CONSTITUTION: In an operation of a blast furnace, the method for protecting bricks of the side wall at the bottom of a blast furnace using a press-in material for securing fluidity comprises the steps of installing press-in holes (5-3) at the iron skin of the bottom of the furnace oppositely contacted with pore parts (4-1) of bricks of the bottom of the furnace during stoppage of the blast furnace; and pressing heavy oil into the press-in holes (5-3). In an operation of a blast furnace, the method comprises the steps of the steps of installing press-in holes (5-3) at the iron skin of the bottom of the furnace oppositely contacted with pore parts (4-1) of bricks of the furnace bottom of the blast furnace; forming a press-in channel by pressing heavy oil into the press-in holes (5-3); and pressing in carbon paste through the press-in channel.
