<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent horizontal stripes from being formed on an image, and to improve image quality. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming cartridge is provided with a supporting member, a 1st rotating body freely rotatably supported by the supporting member, a position switching member attached to the supporting member so as to be placed on at least a 1st or 2nd position, a 2nd rotating body which is arranged so as to freely rotate with reference to the position switching member and which is placed in a working position where a prescribed nip is formed between the 1st and 2nd rotating bodies when the position switching member is placed in the 1st position, and which is placed in the retreat position when the position switching member is placed in the 2nd position, and an operating member for placing the position switching member in the 1st or 2nd position. By positioning the 2nd rotating body in the retreat position in a stationary state, the nip is prevented from being formed between the 1st rotating body and the 2nd rotating body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
