<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film which hardly causes bright spots and a yellowing due to a protective film when the film is used as a protective film for polarizing plate, and to provide a polarizing plate free from a decrease in polarization degree or discoloration with time and excellent in durability. <P>SOLUTION: The optical film comprises a film containing ≥10 mass% of saturated norbornene resin produced by polymerization in the presence of catalyst containing at least one kind of metallocene and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer disposed on the upper side of the above film.
