PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus by which cleaning property to a developer and a foreign matter remaining on an image carrier surface after transferring a visible image can be improved, fusion of a developer component onto the image carrier surface is prevented and output image of high grade can be obtained over a long period of time. SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, the image carrier a surface layer of which contains an arylate resin and on a peripheral surface of which an electrostatic latent image is formed by exposure, is used, a developing means for visualizing the electrostatic latent image formed on the image carrier is provided, the visible image obtained by the developing means is primarily transferred at a primarily transferring section on a surface of an intermediate transferring body arranged so that its surface is brought into contact with the image carrier surface with speed difference. Then the primarily transferred image is secondarily transferred at a secondarily transferring section on a material to be transferred to form the image. The developer incorporating a toner particle containing at least a binding resin and a colorant, inorganic fine powder and a hydrotalcite compound, is used. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
