PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device which can move an optical pickup smoothly without increasing sliding resistance to a through hole even if the through hole or a guide shaft is oxidized. SOLUTION: The optical pickup device is provided with an objective lens 15 condensing a laser beam on a signal recording surface of an optical disk 3, a pickup base 14 on which the objective lens 15 is arranged, and a through hole 16 being threaded by the guide shaft 25 which is nearly cylindrical and formed at one end of a pickup base 14 for guiding the movement of the pickup base 14 arranged on a chassis 2 so as to be nearly parallel to the radial direction of the optical disk 3, in the radial direction of the optical disk 3. In the pickup base 14, at a cross section in the radial direction, the through hole 16 and a periphery of the guide shaft 25 are abutted at least three points by threading the guide shaft 25 in the through hole 16, and at a cross section in the axial direction, a gap is formed between the through hole 16 and the guide shaft 25 in the longitudinal direction.
