PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening and closing device for properly opening and closing an opening part having excellent operability. SOLUTION: The opening and closing device 1 is provided with a liftable opening and closing body 4, and a rotatable engaging rotating body 6 positioned on the lower end side of the opening and closing body 4. The opening and closing device 1 is provided with a rotatable operation body 21 positioned on the lower end side of the opening and closing body 4, which is in a locked state by downward rotation and which is in a locking released state by upward rotation. The opening and closing device 1 is provided with a rotatable engagement receiving rotating body 51 engaged with the engaging rotating body 6 and regulating lifting of the opening and closing body of a closed state. When the opening and closing body 4 is lowered, the engagement receiving rotating body 51 is rotated by pushing of the engaging rotating body 6, and when the opening and closing body 4 is lifted, the engaging rotating body 6 is rotated by pushing of the engagement receiving rotating body 51.
