PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect temperature rises of many secondary batteries and to identify a secondary battery, a battery module or a group of secondary batteries with raised temperature. SOLUTION: A power supply unit for a vehicle comprises a plurality of secondary batteries 1, a plurality of temperature sensors 3 for detecting temperatures of the plurality of secondary batteries 1 and calculation circuit 5 for specifying the secondary battery 1 with raised temperature based on signals from the temperature sensors 3. The calculation circuit 5 includes multiple rows of output lines 6 and multiple columns of input lines 7. The sensors 3, each of which changes its own electrical resistance at a predetermined temperature, are connected between the output lines 6 and the input lines 7 in a matrix configuration. The power supply unit outputs scan signals through the respective output lines 6 to the temperature sensor matrix and detects the scan signals via the input lines to identify the sensor 3 with changed resistance, thus identifying the secondary battery 1 with raised temperature.
