PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an epoch-making hinge device and electric apparatus using the hinge device having an extremely high commercial value. SOLUTION: A first engaging element 4 having a cam 3 is provided on either of a first member 1 or a second member 2 that are coupled so as to freely rotate for opening/closing, and a second engaging element 6 having a cam engaging 5 recessed and projecting engaged with the cam 3 is provided on the other. When the first engaging element 4 and the second engaging element 6 are in an engaging state, rotations of the first member 1 and the second member 2 are locked. An engagement urging element 7 urging at least one of the first engaging element 4 and the second engaging element 6 in an engaging direction, and a rotation urging element 8 urging at least one of the first engaging element 4 and the second engaging element 6 in a rotating direction, are provided. By the operation of a push-in button 12, at least one of the first engaging element 4 and the second engaging element 6 is urged by urging force of the rotation urging element 8, thereby automatically opening and rotating the first member 1 and the second member 2.
