PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible disk unit with a high degree of reliability by preventing a gimbal spring from becoming deformed by an impact. SOLUTION: A magnetic head device has double-sided magnetic heads supported by a tabular gimbal spring 2 and one of the magnetic heads disposed over a disk is biaxially and torsionally displaceable. To a connection part which is torsionally displaceable around an axis, control means 11, 12 having small torsional rigidity to control torsional displacement of a connection part are set at a location separate from the connection part, and by this control means, the displacement of the connection part is limited within an elastic area, the plastic deformation is prevented and the improvement of the impact resistance is achieved.
