PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid coupling with a thin and light baffle plate. SOLUTION: A pump impeller 3 comprises a pump hub 3h, which is mounted on the turbine hub 4h of the turbine impeller 4 pivotally coupled to an output shaft 2 in relative relation through a bearing 9, and a pump shell 3s, which is welded to the external end of the pump hub 3h. The baffle plate 15, which is fitted on the external peripheral face of the pump hub 3h in to a ring like form and thicker than the pump hub 3h is held between a small flange 30 which is formed in the pump hub 3h, and the pump shell 3s.
