PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operating performance as a fuel injection valve and to enhance reliability by collecting foreign matter generated within a fuel passage. SOLUTION: A planar filter 18 is provided in a spring support stage part 9E within an anchor part 9 constituting a valve element 8. Foreign matter in fuel flowing toward an oil passage hole 9D in the valve element 8 is collected by the planar filter 18. Even when foreign matter such as chip and wear powder is generated within the fuel passage 3, the planar filter 18 therefore is capable of collecting the foreign matter when the fuel containing the foreign matter flows within the valve element 8. As a result, an event in which the foreign matter is held between a valve seat member 6 and the valve element 8 or a nozzle hole 7A of a nozzle plate 7 is clogged can be prevented. The planar filter 18 can be easily mounted by utilizing the existing spring support stage part 9E provided on the anchor part 9. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
