PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lock device for a sliding door, which simplifies operations for locking and unlocking the sliding door. SOLUTION: This lock device 1 for the sliding door is equipped with: a guide rail 3 which is provided on the indoor side surface of the sliding door 2 and elongated in the traveling direction of the sliding door 2; a casing 11 which can be attached to/detached from the guide rail 3 so as to be travelable along the guide rail 3 and has an abutting part 10 which abuts on a fixing-side jamb 9; a lock member 12 which is provided in the casing 11 so as to enable switching between a lock state of making the traveling of the casing 11 impossible and an unlock state of allowing the traveling thereof; and a key member 5 for putting the lock member 12 into the unlock state by being linearly inserted into the casing 11.
